It’s About Him

DAY 3 — IT’S ABOUT HIM

“For we do not preach ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord, and ourselves your bondservants for Jesus’ sake. For it is the God who commanded light to shine out of darkness, who has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellence of the power may be of God and not of us.”

2 Corinthians 4:5–7

Come up higher: Live as a vessel that carries His glory.

I have an oil-burning lamp that was handmade in Israel. Without oil, without a wick and without fire, this lamp is just another piece of pottery. The lamp can’t create the flame; it just carries it.

You are a carrier of something sacred. But you are not the source, you are the vessel. We must resist the temptation to receive what belongs to God. We aren’t gathering people to ourselves. We want people to follow Christ, because any other substitute is an idol. The most deceptive idol is the idol of self, and that is why we must stay submitted and surrendered.

In a world that constantly pulls toward self-promotion and recognition, you are called to live differently. In every crowd, every message, every conversation, your mission is to point others back to Jesus.

Here’s the reality: when the focus shifts to us, the fire begins to dim. But when the focus remains on Him, the flame stays pure.

Prayer: “Jesus, let my life reflect You. Keep my heart free from self-promotion and anchored in Your presence.”

Journal: How are you maintaining submission and surrender to Jesus? What steps can you take to ensure you are a vessel for His Glory?
